About Liora Psychology

Hi, I'm Emma.

I’m a psychologist with a particular interest in helping children and young people better understand how they learn, think, feel and experience the world.

My work has centred on children and families across education, counselling and community settings.

I’ve seen how difficult it can be when a child is trying incredibly hard but continues to struggle — and the difference it can make when the adults around them begin to understand why.

At Liora Psychology, I offer psychological assessment and therapy for children and young people, with a focus on helping them feel understood, supported and more confident in everyday life.

Whether a family is looking for answers through assessment or support through therapy, my aim is to provide a clearer understanding of what is going on and what might actually help.

My approach

I aim to make psychology:

Warm
Children and young people should feel safe, respected and comfortable being themselves.

Thoughtful
Support should consider the whole child, not just a diagnosis, test score or presenting difficulty.

Easy to understand
Psychological information should be clear and meaningful for children, families and the people supporting them.

Practical
Recommendations and strategies should be realistic and useful in everyday life.

Neuro-affirming practice

Liora Psychology takes a neuro-affirming and strengths-based approach.

Differences in attention, learning, communication, emotional regulation and development are approached with curiosity and respect, while still acknowledging areas where a child or young person may need meaningful support.

The goal is not to change who a child is, but to help them better understand themselves, build on their strengths and navigate the things that feel difficult.

Outside of psychology, I’m a mum of young children myself and understand that navigating assessments, schools, therapy and support systems can sometimes feel overwhelming.

My goal is to make the process as clear, supportive and approachable as possible.
