A supportive space for children and young people aged 8+
Growing up can be hard sometimes.
Children and young people may experience anxiety, big emotions, school stress, friendship difficulties, low confidence or challenges related to ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence.
Therapy at Liora Psychology provides a supportive space to better understand what is going on, build practical skills and develop ways of coping that feel meaningful and achievable.
My approach is warm, collaborative and neuro-affirming. The aim is not to change who your child is, but to help them better understand themselves, recognise their strengths and feel more supported in everyday life.
What therapy can help with
Therapy may support children and young people aged 8+ with:
anxiety and worries
emotional regulation
confidence and self-esteem
ADHD and executive functioning
neurodivergence
school stress
friendship difficulties
adjustment to change
What to expect
Therapy begins with an initial appointment to understand what has been happening and what support may be helpful.
Sessions are then tailored to the young person’s age, needs and goals, with parent or caregiver involvement where appropriate.

Medicare rebates are not currently available while I await allocation of my Medicare provider number.
Once my provider number is active, eligible clients with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan and referral may be able to access Medicare rebates for therapy sessions.
Liora Psychology is a private billing service, so the full fee is payable at the time of the appointment.
Is therapy at Liora the right fit?

Children and young people need an appropriate level of privacy to feel comfortable speaking openly in therapy.
What is shared with parents will depend on the young person’s age, maturity and individual circumstances. Parents will generally be kept informed about overall goals, progress and any important safety concerns, while respecting the young person’s privacy.
-
There is no set number of sessions that is right for every young person. Some may benefit from a short period of focused therapy, while others may need support over a longer period.
Goals and progress will be reviewed along the way.
-
Yes. With appropriate consent, I can liaise with educators and other professionals involved in your child’s care where this may support therapy.
